Dr. Julia Elodie Vlachojannis studied Dental Medicine in Freiburg and Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She specialized as orthodontist in a three year Master of Science Program at Columbia University, NYC, US and worked one year at Leifert Orthodontics, 30, 5th Ave, New York, NY 10003. In 2009 she moved to Greece and opened two dental specialist offices (Ekali & Melissia). In the same year she obtained her German board Specialist title (Facharzt fuer Kieferorthopaedie) as well as her Greek board Specialist title. In 2010 she also became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, which is the highest level of training recognized for orthodontic specialists in the US.
Currently in Athens, Greece, there are only a handful of American Board certified orthodontists. (A dentist who graduates from a specialty program becomes an orthodontic specialist who is eligible to become board certified through the voluntary examination process of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO).) http://www.americanboardortho.com/public/ To become a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a dentist must pass a clinical exam by orthodontic experts. This is not just a test with questions and answers, it’s a review of her work, where her results are graded and scored to ensure she is able to deliver quality orthodontic treatment to her patients. She is also a greek board certified orthodontist as well as a german board certified orthodontist (Facharzt fuer Kieferorthopaedie). Her focus is on invisible orthodontic therapy. Her expertise includes all types of braces (lingual braces, ceramic, self-ligating, Damon, Clear Aligner as well as Invisalign). She manages complex adult cases as minimally as possible. In order to work without extraction and in order to eliminate side-effects of orthodontic therapy (proclination of the lower front teeth through elastics wear) in prognathism she uses the Top Jet Distalizer. This device makes the treatment of adult prognathism not only possible without extraction but also reduces active braces wear time to 12 months (in comparison with regular treatment including extraction of premolar teeth and 2 year active braces wear time). She presents this method as author in her latest book chapter publication (chapter 15).
She accepts and finishes transfer patients from all over the world. Regardless of your age she will put a smile on your face! She acts as a reviewer for several journals and publishes extensively in dental medicine and phytomedicine (theme of her doctor thesis):
